Working on Blown Away was a great job.hundreds of extras were used to film this scene where a mad bomber reports he has put a bomb in a trolly car and the police and bomb squad seal off the area. they had three helecopters flying very low over the area. all the extras had to sign a Vic Marrow agreement in order to work because of what happen during the filming of the Twilight Zone movie. If you know Boston and the buildings in Copley Square area you can see how low they are. If you look close at the center picture you can see the door is open and that is the camera man filming the scene.

They discover the bomb is in the police truck but it goe's off before they can get to it. The explosion was set off by remote control so all cell phone's and radio's were banned from the area. In the first picture on the left the fireman standing next to the police car is the remote operator. The blast was so great you could feel the heat and your ears rang most of the day. They then used a cane and cables to flip the truck over and onto a police car. This was to simulate the force of the blast. Camera's were all around and above to film the shot they even had cameras under barrels to protect the camera's. But as with all real big scene's you can not see me. It was fun and it took three days to film.
